Lady Rams Softball

Jr. High Softball Open Practice (for students entering 5th-8th grade) will take place Monday, July 7 through Thursday, July 10 from 7:00-8:30PM at the Vienna City Ball Park.

Interested in Cross Country?

Cross Country Open Practice (for students entering 5th-8th grade) will be held Monday, July 14th and Wednesday, July 16th from 8:00-9:00AM at Vienna City Park. Please wear appropriate clothing and don't forget to bring water!

Practices will continue to be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00-9:00AM each week unless notified otherwise.

The Vienna Public School District #55 Athletic Department is taking letters of interest for the following coaching vacancies during the 2024-2025 school year(Fall, 2025 Season): Head Varsity Softball Coach, Varsity Assistant Softball Coach, Head Boys'/Girls' Cross Country Coach. Persons interested should contact Athletic Director Dawson Hill, dhill@viennagradeschool.com. The positions will be posted until the positions are filled by the Vienna District #55 Board of Education.

[CORRECTION] Thursday, April 10th, 2025 Spring Sing Event at VGS Postponed - Vienna District #55 regrets to inform you that the Thursday, April 10th, 2025 Spring Sing (grades 4-6) will be postponed to a later date in the 2024-2025 school year. Ms. Clark (music teacher) received terrible news this morning of an unexpected death in her family. Our prayers and thoughts are with Ms. Clark and her family during this difficult time. With this in mind, a decision has been made to postpone the April 10th, 2025 Spring Sing event at Vienna Grade School. A new date and time has not been confirmed, however, a rescheduled Spring Sing date will be communicated publicly as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and support. We look forward to showcase the talents of our students in the Spring 2025 Spring Sing at a later date this school year.

EARLY STUDENT DISMISSAL TODAY, MARCH 2ND, 2025 - All Johnson County school districts, including Vienna Grade School, will be dismissing students and staff at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon in anticipation of this afternoon's storms entering our area. The early dismissal includes bus riders, parent/guardian pick-ups and students who walk home from school. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance regarding this weather related schedule change today - BE SAFE!

Vienna Grade School will be hosting multiple law enforcement agencies on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 for school safety trainings as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors to VGS. Vienna Grade School will be shut down for any school based or other community based activities between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 to permit access for law enforcement officers from multiple law enforcement agencies to conduct school safety/armed intruder training exercises. Vienna District #55 is thankful for the opportunity to work with law enforcement officers from multiple law enforcement agencies to continuously improve school safety plans and practices.

All Johnson County Schools will be closed on Friday, January 10th, 2025 due to the anticipated snow event that will take place later this evening and during the morning hours of January 10th, 2025. Stay safe and warm and we certainly plan on having students back on Monday, January 13th, 2025.

CORRECTION: No School at Vienna District #55 on Thursday, January 9th, 2025. The Jr. High Boys' Basketball game scheduled at home vs. Johnston City is still scheduled as of the afternoon of January 8th, 2025. That said, VGS will be recognizing its Winter 8th grade student-athletes at half time of the Junior Varsity boys' basketball game vs. Carterville on Monday, January 13th, 2025.

With the impending colder temperatures tonight and several of our rural roads still presenting challenges for early morning travel tomorrow morning, VGS will not be in session tomorrow, Thursday, January 8th, 2025. As of this evening, the Jr. High boys' basketball game vs. Johnston City on the evening of January 9th, 2025 is still scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Tomorrow night's Varsity and JV boys' basketball games will include the recognition of following 8th grade student-athletes at halftime of the JV game (6:00ish): Lady Rams' 8th Grade Basketball Players Lady Rams' 8th Grade Cheerleaders Rams' Boys' 8th Grade Basketball Players IF THIS EVENT IS CANCELED ON THE MORNING OF JANUARY 9TH, 2025, WE WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW.
